GUERNEVILLE: New seafood restaurant comes to town

Seaside Metal oyster bar opened this spring in the former Hemp & Chocolate space at 16222 Main St., Guerneville.

Chef Mike Selvera, of Bar Crudo in San Francisco, and his twin brother, Tim Selvera, have created a smaller version of the San Francisco seafood restaurant with a menu that ranges from a cream-based Seafood Chowder, made with fresh fish, mussels, squid and shrimp, to playful versions of crudos (raw seafood dishes.)

“That's what we're known for down in the city,” said Sofia Laurin, general manager of Bar Crudo, who is helping out at Seaside Metal. “Our Arctic char has horseradish, creme fraiche, wasabi and dill. We do yellowtail with lemon curd and shallots and micro-basil.”
