Twin Oaks Tavern: Penngrove's old roadhouse, Twin Oaks Tavern, has become a top local destination for musical and food fun in a casual setting.
When you have a hankerin' for Rasta Dwight's delicious barbecue, you'll find it here on Friday and Saturday night from 6 to 9 p.m., though the earlier the better is a good idea.
Starting June 11, Wednesday will be Fried Chicken Night, with a country jam featuring Kevin Russell, our local singer, songwriter and guitar-banjo-mandolin-dobro player who plays in so many bands at so many venues that we are not convinced he isn't twins.
Kevin Russell and Friends will appear on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month through August.
There's no cover charge for the music and $12 gets you pan-fried chicken, mashed potatoes and corn on the cob. Dinner is from 6 to 9 p.m.; music is 8 to 11 p.m.
Twin Oaks Tavern is located at Old Redwood Highway in Penngrove. For more information, including the music calendar, visit twinoakstavernpenngrove.com.
