Two men, teen from Sonoma County arrested in Marin chase

Two men and a 15-year-old, all from Sonoma County, were arrested early Saturday morning after leading police on a car chase in Marin County where speeds exceeded 100 mph, the CHP said.

The CHP said officers clocked a stolen Toyota Solara speeding on northbound Highway 101 near Sausalito at about 3:10 a.m. and attempted to make a traffic stop. But the car, which the CHP said was driven by Alan Ramirez, 18, of Petaluma, tried to evade officers, nearly spinning out of control before exiting the freeway at the Highway 1-Mill Valley offramp.

The car continued north on Highway 1 before turning onto Tennessee Valley Road, where Ramirez lost control of the car and crashed it into a drainage culvert, the CHP said.

Ramirez and two passengers fled on foot. All three were eventually arrested, the CHP said.

Eduardo Morales, 20, of Rohnert Park was subdued with a Taser near the scene of the crash, the CHP said. He was arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest and receiving of stolen property, a felony.

Marin County Sheriff's deputies arrested Ramirez on suspicion of felony evading while driving, felony receiving of stolen property, felony possession of a narcotic, misdemeanor resisting arrest, misdemeanor DUI, misdemeanor driving on a suspended license for DUI and failure to appear in court on a warrant.

The CHP said a 15-year-old who was in the back seat of the car was arrested and booked into juvenile hall. The minor, who was on probation, was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor resisting arrest and felony receiving stolen property.

The CHP said the registered owner of the Toyota said it had been stolen Friday night or Saturday morning in San Francisco.
