Sonoma County can expect a rainy end to March, the National Weather Service said Monday.
The wet weather will begin as early as sunrise on Tuesday, around 6:30 a.m., said forecaster Bob Benjamin.
It could continue, on and off, through Monday or Tuesday next week.
“It's going to be an unsettled week,” Benjamin said. “There won't be steady rain, but the chance of it will be there each day.”
Rain should fall steadily through Tuesday afternoon before tapering into showers in the evening. Another system is expected to move in Wednesday morning. Over the two days, between 1/2 and a full inch could call in the low-lying areas of Sonoma County. The hills could receive up to two inches, Benjamin said.
Showers could linger into Thursday night. Another rain system, possibly wetter, could move in over the weekend, he added.
“It could be a rainy end to the month,” he said.
No major wind is expected. Temperatures should be in upper 50s and lower 60s during the day, dipping slightly into the lower 50s and upper 40s at night.
