The Blessing of the Olives will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Mission San Francisco Solano de Sonoma, as the kick-off to the Sonoma Valley Olive Season.
After the harvested olives are blessed, there will be live music and refreshments. The Sonoma Mission is located at the northwest corner of First Street East and Spain Street.
From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Don Landis will give a free olive curing seminar at Cline Cellars in Sonoma. Learn about the olive expert's “no lye” curing technique, tour the Olive Press and sample olives and wine.

CALISTOGA: Wineries tour passports on sale
Through Feb. 9, Calistoga will issue a passport to its 5th annual Winter in the Wineries event, which includes tastings at 14 wineries plus discounts at up-valley restaurants and stores, hotels and inns.
For $75, passport holders can schedule wine-tasting appointments at each of the participating wineries, from the uber-Italian Castello di Amorosa to the legendary Chateau Montelena.
Napa Valley's 15th officially designated winegrowing region also includes hot springs that have drawn visitors to the region for hundreds of years.

SONOMA: Three Kings Day at Gloria Ferrer
Gloria Ferrer in Sonoma will celebrate Epiphany — also known as Three Kings Day — at 4 p.m. Sunday with a family-friendly performance in the cave and traditional treats.
Guests may enjoy a glass of bubbly or hot cocoa with Spain's famous Rosca bread, a sweet, round cake decorated wtih dried and candied fruit that is traditionally served on Three Kings Day.
