Police car tires slashed in Lakeport

Lakeport police are looking for a police car tire slasher.

The slasher destroyed two tires — one tire each on two patrol cars — disabling the prowlers, said Lakeport police officials.

The cars had been parked near downtown, in the area of Second Street and North Main Street, while the officers were working on foot.

The slashings occurred Thursday between 9:30-11:45 p.m.

Replacing the two tires cost about $400, officials said.

Officials are hoping someone will information and contact officers by calling dispatch at (707) 263-5491, extension 32. Anonymous calls also may be made by dialing (707) 263-5491, extension 17 or extension 12, and leaving a message.
