A La Carte: Let the pros cook for Thanksgiving

If you're looking for a place to celebrate Thanksgiving on Nov. 28, while skipping the messy cooking and cleanup, there are lots of choices around Wine Country.

Sonoma Community Center's free Thanksgiving Dinner will be held at 3 p.m. at the Sonoma Veterans Memorial Hall. The menu is prepared by volunteer Gary Edwards and includes 100 organic Willie Bird turkeys. Guests bring their own homemade desserts to share, and wine can be purchased by the glass. Safari West presents Thanksgiving on the Sonoma Serengeti, featuring a complete feast served at two seatings, noon and 4 p.m. Diners have their choice of appetizers, salad, soup, roast turkey, flank steak or honey ham, served with all the fixings. Stark's Steak & Seafood will serve a traditional Thanksgiving dinner in addition to its regular menu.
