SOFA Fun: On Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m., Santa Rosa's South of A Street — hence, SOFA — hosts their annual Vine Art. It's one of the hip neighborhood's best events of the year.
When you pony up twenty-five bucks, you get to sip and nibble your way through the studios, chatting with artists and representatives of participating wineries, running into friends and enjoying all manner of surprises. The areas cafe's and restaurants are participating, too, and it's really anyone's guess at this point what they'll be offering.
Whatever it is, it will be interesting, delicious and fun, as things here always are.
It all takes place just south of Juilliard Park, on South A Street at the intersection of Sebastopol Ave. If you drive to the event, arrive early or be prepared to walk several blocks.

Greek Fete In Occidental: On Saturday evening at 8 p.m., the Occidental Center for the Arts (3850 Doris Murphy Court), welcomes the Hohlax Trio, a group of Greek musicians touring the West Coast.
The evening will include music and dance, along with a savory plate of Greek nibbles (dolmas, feta cheese, olives and pita), Greek cookies and other sweets and, of course, ouzo.
General admission is $15; foods and beverages will be available for purchase.
For advance reservations, visit occidentalcenterforthearts.org or call 874-9392. Tickets should be available at the door, too.
Summer Music Series: This Friday from 6 to 8 p.m., the Cork Pullers present their unique form of “Sonomacana” music at Wilson Winery (1960 Dry Creek Rd., Healdsburg).
Admission is $5 for wine club members and $10 for the general public, which includes a wine glass.
Wines will be available by the glass and bottle and food will be available for purchase from Vero's Kitchen food cart.
Two weeks remain in this music series, which has taken place at four wineries. On September 20, Blue Steel will play at Soda Rock Winery, with Nellie's Oysters providing the nibbles. On September 27, the Blues Burners wrap up the season with their soul funk at DeLorimier Winery.
