Pop out to a pop-up dinner at 6:45 p.m. Thursday when Spoonbar Executive Chef Louis Maldonado and Bar Manager Cappy Sorentino join forces with Medlock Ames for a summer dinner in the winery gardens.
Guests will be greeted by a choice of cocktails from Sorentino, who will be shaking up The Monk (gin, lemon, ginger and lemon verbena-Chartreuse foam) and The Barely Bitter (botanically infused vodka, Aperol, lemon, sparkling wine and vanilla).
The four-course dinner will be paired with wines from Medlock Ames' Bell Mountain Vineyard. Courses include a Corn Pudding with Sweet 100 Tomatoes, a Charcoal Roasted Duck with Eggplant and Jimmy Nardello Peppers, a Rack of Lamb Roasted in Coriander and a Tomato + Apricot Jam with a Financier cake.

Picnic, feast, dance at Red & White Ball
The Red & White Ball 2013, an annual dance party hosted by the Sonoma Valley Education Foundation, will raise money for Sonoma Valley's public schools from 6 to 11 p.m. Saturday on the Sonoma Plaza.
Guests will enjoy treats from the Sonoma Valley School Gardens along with wines, live music by Dave Martin's House Party Band, and the choice of a picnic dinner or a VIP farm-to-table dinner.
The picnic party costs $75 and includes a Sonoma-style barbecue and seat at a communal table. The VIP dinner costs $150 and includes a feast of local foods at a private table. Pure Mendocino fete aids cancer centers
Pure Mendocino, a benefit for the Cancer Resource Centers of Mendocino County, will take place from 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the Dark Horse Vineyard.
The event kicks off with a Biodynamic Farm Tour led by the Dolan family, for $25.
