Petaluma police seek help identifying owner of stolen items

Petaluma police found what they suspect was a trove of stolen goods and Wednesday asked the public's help finding an owner.

The items included power tools and sports equipment as well as two coin collection books for nickels and dimes, Lt. Police Tim Lyons said.

Officers said the items were located at a large campsite at the Adobe Creek Golf Course. A maintenance worker at the course alerted police at about 1:30 p.m. Monday after finding a large camp near the 11th green of the course, Lyons said.

Officers haven't been able to identify a victim of a recent theft or burglary who might be missing the items.

Anyone with information about the items or the camp can call Petaluma police at 778-4372.
