Two men killed in a fiery crash in the rural west county last week have been identified, the Sonoma County Coroner’s Office reported.

Pedro Jerad Jimenez Avalos, 27, of Rohnert Park and Jose Luis Flores Carreras, 35, of San Jose were on Bloomfield Road at about 3 a.m. Monday when their car sped through a stop sign, across a front yard and smashed with tremendous force into a garage door.

The car, a 1993 Acura Legend, exploded into a fireball and spread flames to the garage and house.

The men were burned beyond recognition. At an autopsy officials determined that further toxicology and carbon dioxide testing is needed to determine whether the men died in the fire or the crash, according to the coroner’s office.

CHP investigators suspected at least the driver had been drinking because beer cans were found in the car.

The family of five in the home escaped safely but the residence suffered substantial damage.

I agree! My car was hit by unlicensed, illegal, no registration - no insurance, mexican here for harvest. I watched it happen - called police. They Mexi lives on our street - his truck was in driveway with the damage that matched my vehicle - but the cops said - since i didn't give them a license # of the vehicle that hit me - they could do nothing to the mexi. I'm stuck with 6,000 in damage to my car!!! I wish they would all go back to mexico!

I really feel that you two have problems within yourselves and that is why you find it so easy to judge others. The sad thing about your comments is not that you two are bad mouthing Mexicans but because you two are such ignorant Americans. Do you know that Mexicans are the backbone of the American Economy. And do you also know that the majority of individuals on welfare are the White Americans? Us Mexicans we work for our bread and butter. We don't wait for handouts. Go figure on that one. So the next time you want to judge a person just because they are here illegally in the United States...stop and think that we are the MAJORITY not the MINORITY.Sherina Maria Flores

I picked avocados once while in Israel as a volunteer (for a year).
It was fun until the shooting from across the border in Lebanon started and the military had to come and dash out to the field to come and rescue us...aaaah, those were the days.
Anyway, if they paid me enough, I'd pick fruit
Anyhoo...I thought that was kind of funny.....I was a Dutch fieldworker for a couple of days out of that year in the Middle East.
Other "jobs" included shoveling chicken-doodoo and cooking chicken-necks (yes, that's right) for a dining hall of thousands of people, so I guess that made me a "Mexican" of the Middle East ....it was a dirty job but somebody had to do it
