Business Journal hosts first-ever Going Green Conference: Building, Technology & Practices

NORTH BAY, Sept. 19, 2008 – The NORTH BAY BUSINESS JOURNAL's inaugural 2008 Going Green Conference will take an in-depth look at major trends and developments in the exploding green movement along with how they are impacting the way business is conducted today.

The event will be held Oct. 9 at the Doubletree Hotel in Rohnert Park. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., and the program runs from 8:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Tickets are $45 per person and include continental breakfast. Tables of 10, including company signage, are $470. Two panels of industry experts will discuss top issues emerging in the newly developing field of green business. The first panel will focus on green building and green technology, and the second panel will provide information based on first-hand experience of successful green business practices.

The first panel includes Peter Bruck of the city of Rohnert Park to talk about green building standards, Dawn Danby of Autodesk to cover sustainable design technology, Patty Garbarino of Marin Sanitary to discuss efforts toward zero-waste and Alexandra von Meier of Sonoma State University to provide an overview of alternative energy technologies.

The second panel will feature Randy Poole of the Sonoma County Water Agency and Rod Dole of the county of Sonoma discussing a potential zero-carbon water delivery system and implications of AB 811 for financing projects, Dennis Carroll of Sonoma Wine Co. explaining his wine company's green practices and Wen Chang of the Gaia Napa Valley Hotel showing how cost and profit can be balanced with a sustainable future.
