An off-duty Santa Rosa police officer spotted what looked like trouble -- a young man climbing a fence into a back yard -- called for help and officers arrested three young men suspected of burglarizing a Santa Rosa home.

The officer was driving on Hidden Valley Drive at about 1:40 p.m. Tuesday when he saw two young men in a yard of a home and then saw one climb the fence, Sgt. Steve Fraga reported.

Arriving officers stopped a man leaving the home while other officers went into the back yard. They found a door kicked in and two more men. One ran out the front door but was stopped by officers.

Police said the three had property from the house and were arrested on suspicion of burglary and conspiracy to commit a crime.

Luther Duoa, 19, and Jorge Luis Vega, 18, remained in custody Wednesday morning. Bail was set at $40,000 each for the Santa Rosa trio but Gerardo Machuca, 18, was released after posting bail.
