A call for help led to the arrest of a 41-year-old Santa Rosa man and investigation into possible drug activity, police reported.

A 911 call at 12:20 p.m. Thursday led officers to a home on South Hampton Circle in Santa Rosa. A woman made the call and said she was being attacked by a man with a gun, before the line was disconnected.

Police arrived and were able to convince the man to exit the home with the woman.

Alexander Abacan Briones was arrested and booked into Sonoma County Jail on assault-related charges.

Police said they discovered ammunition and brass knuckles, as well as marijuana and marijuana cultivation materials in the home.

The firearm allegedly used in the assault and an illegally modified shotgun were also discovered in the home.

The investigation was continuing Friday.
