Police Friday were searching for two armed men who robbed a Santa Rosa motel Thursday night.
A clerk at Extended Stay America on Corby Avenue reported the robbery which occurred at 9:31 p.m.
Police said two men entered the motel, pointed a handgun at the clerk and demanded cash. After pocketing the money they left the motel. Police did not disclose the amount of cash taken.
A video surveillance camera from the motel’s lobby is being reviewed, Sgt. Lisa Banayat said.
The suspects were described as two black men in their mid- to late 20’s, one approximately 6 feet tall with a goatee, a black beanie and a white T-shirt. The second suspect is approximately 5-foot-11 and wearing a grey sweatshirt.
Police are asking that anyone with information about the robbery call the violent crimes investigations unit at 543-3590.

Nice area. If I had to stay in a motel it sure wouldn't be there! Extended Stay, yeah, right!

First, it is 'cowardly thugs' not "gunmen."
Second, I am SO glad that CA has the strict gun laws it does. Keeps thugs and criminals from getting them. Yep, works like a charm.

Santa Rosa is starting to get bad in terms of crime, especially crime involving guns. What is law enforcement doing? Writing traffic tickets and setting up checkpoints? Great priorities.
