OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) -- Authorities say a four-year-old boy who was shot by his father earlier this month has died.
A Contra Costa County sheriff's office spokesman says Christian Valladolid died at Children's Hospital Oakland early Friday evening after he was taken off life support.
The boy had been hospitalized since Aug. 7 when investigators say his 38-year-old father -- Javier-Francisco Valladolid also fatally shot 34-year-old Graciela Gutierrez -- a relative of his estranged wife -- before turning the gun on himself.
Investigators say the shooting was sparked by a domestic dispute, with Valladolid going on the shooting rampage while his estranged wife was in court to renew a temporary restraining order against him.
