13-year-old boy arrested in rape of Montclair teen

MONTCLAIR, Calif. (AP) -- Montclair police say a 13-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of raping a 15-year-old girl whose family helped locate the suspect.

The girl was walking home the night of July 27 when someone grabbed her, pulled her into an alley and raped her.

Capt. Chris Weiske says the victim gave officers a description of the suspect and her family helped hand out a composite drawing in the neighborhood. Family members also drove throughout the area looking for the suspect.

Weiske says the victim's brother recognized the suspect from the drawing, located him and called police, who arrested the teen on Saturday.

The suspect was booked into a juvenile detention facility. His name is not being released because of his age.

    WOW! This is incredible! My 6 year old daughter was raped on August 3, 2008 by a 13 year old boy in our upstairs bathroom during a birthday party! The Corona detective say they "legally" don't have to talk to the perp and he doesn't have to answer questions. So it is amazing to me that this kid was picked up on suspision of raped and booked! I can't get anywhere with our case! Way to go!!!
