The outlook: The recession is not expected to shed a significant number of jobs.
That was then: The 1991 recession sliced 900 jobs from the county's total employment. In 2001 it was much worse as the county shed 7,600 total jobs and its economic output contracted by 12 percent.
The numbers: During the current recession, the county's economy is predicted to grow 0.3 percent in 2008 and 1.3 percent in 2009, after contracting by 0.2 percent in 2007. The report estimates an additional 1,500 jobs will be created during 2008 and 2009.
