Linda Carlson has been promoted at Sonoma Bank to territory executive. Carlson has worked at Sonoma Bank since 2002. Prior to her promotion, she served as a community manager. She has been in the banking industry for nearly 30 years.

Redwood Credit Union recently elected volunteer officials to their board of directors and supervisory committee. Elected to the board for three-year terms are Robert Steele, Debra Watts and Robert Wieck. Krishna Kumar and David Gouin have been elected to the supervisory committee. Board officers include Greg McGuirk, chairman; Steele, vice chairman; Jim Olmsted, secretary; and Watts, treasurer. Committee officers include Martin Grove, chairman, and Kumar, secretary.

Tony Marks of The Marks Co., has been awarded the IFA designation from the National Association of Independent Fee Appraisers. This designation recognizes Marks as a residential appraisal specialist. Marks, who has earned state certification and Federal Housing Administration approval, has more than 17 years of residential appraisal experience in Sonoma, Marin, Napa and Solano counties.

Assemblyman Jared Huffman, D-San Rafael, presented Petaluma Poultry with a Sustainable North Bay Award for April. Since 2000, Petaluma Poultry has instituted a number of programs designed to reduce the company's ecological footprint. The company has reduced its natural gas usage at its feed mill by 9.2 percent, converted lighting in poultry houses, and worked with the U.S. Department of Agriculture and UC Davis in a study to reduce chlorine usage in the processing plant by sanitizing with ozone.

The YWCA of Sonoma County has recently elected Niessia Benedetti Diehl and Jennifer Girvin to its board of directors. Diehl has been a past director of the nonprofit program Volunteer Wheels and has a master's degree in psychology and counseling. Girvin is vice president of the Santa Rosa Welfare League.

Wine journalist and editor Tina Caputo has been selected as editor-in-chief for Vineyard & Winery Management magazine. Most recently the managing editor of Wines & Vines magazine, Caputo has worked at Maisons Marques & Domaines USA and the Wine Institute. She replaces Graham Parnell, the managing editor of Vineyard & Winery since 1998.

James L. Russell has been named the new chief executive officer at Palm Drive Hospital. Russell, formerly chief financial officer at Community Hospital (now Sutter Medical Center), recently worked as a financial and administrative consultant to small hospitals and physician groups in Orange County.

Safari Books Online has appointed Paige Mazzoni as vice president of marketing. Mazzoni will lead Safari's strategic marketing efforts. Most recently, she was executive vice president of marketing for the Nelson Family of Companies.

Solar Works has opened its new sales, operations, and warehousing facility at 400 Morris St. in Sebastopol. The space permits Solar Works to hold its in-house "Going Solar" workshops. The company has presented free, educational solar workshops for the community since 2001.

Redwood Reliance Peterbilt has changed its name to Peterbilt of Northern California. Its new Web site will be at www.norcalpete.com. The company currently has a full line of equipment sales, parts and service facilities in both Cotati and Eureka.

Frank Howard Allen has brought on Virginia Hadley and Anne Strong at its Petaluma office. Hadley comes to Frank Howard Allen from BMC Mortgage. Strong, who was named 2005 Frank Howard Allen Rookie of the Year, is a returning agent.

Petaluma Appliance and Design has relocated to 1350 Industrial Ave., Suite B, in Petaluma. Partners Chris Davis, Jim Phillips and Mike Patterson provide new and rebuilt appliances for home and office use.
