A Far Cry string ensemble -- Boston's celebrated conductorless orchestra -- will perform at 3 p.m. today at the Glaser Center in Santa Rosa. The dozen-plus musicians are all young and extremely talented, bound together by a commitment to sharing great music and taking risks. Blues, BBQ at Nicasio
Rancho Nicasio kicks off its annual BBQ on the Lawn concert series at 3 p.m. May 25 with a menu of barbecue favorites like Louisiana hot links and baby back ribs. The music, entitled "Blues Broads 2008" begins at 4 p.m. with the Lara Price Band from the South Bay and continues with Tracy Nelson, Carlene Carter, Dorothy "Oh Happy Day" Morrison, Annie Sampson and the Queen of Texas blues, Angela Strehli.
