The Octagon Group, a team of business professionals, has brought on Janet Church, Kenneth Churchill and Christine Martin to its strategic planning consortium. Church is a veteran of the technology industry and was president and chief executive officer of Janet Church & Associates for 16 years. Churchill has more than 30 years of business development and management experience as chief executive officer and founder of Daystar Energy System and ACC Environmental Consultants. Martin is the founder of Firefly Creative Co., a marketing design studio.
Dana O'Halloran, premier banker for Exchange Bank's southern region, has been named to the board of directors for Mentor Me Petaluma. O'Halloran has been with the bank for 19 years and works at the Petaluma branch.
The National Association for Home Care and Hospice has selected Lucy Andrews as one of the top 150 Experts in Home Care and Hospice at the 2008 Home Care and Hospice Strategic Planning Congress in Phoenix. Andrews is the chief executive officer of At Your Service Home Care in Santa Rosa.
Christian L. Cook has received his project management professional certification. Cook is program manager in the Ordinance and Tactical Systems Group at General Dynamics in Healdsburg.
The Bay Area Independent Publishers Association recently awarded the book, "How To Win A Sports Scholarship, 3rd edition," written by Penny Hastings and Todd Caven, a silver award for the Overall Best Book of 2007 and Best Cover Award of 2007. The third edition is published by Redwood Creek Publishing of Santa Rosa. Robert Marcus Graphics of Sebastopol designed the award-winning cover.
Andrea Learned has been appointed to the board of directors for the Center for Well-Being. Learned is vice president for development at St. Joseph Health System.
Frank Howard Allen has added three agents in Sonoma County: Julie Chavez has joined the Petaluma office. Chavez focuses on the Latino market and has a background in lending. Peggy Brindle and Angel Williams have joined the Santa Rosa Office. Brindle, with more than 20 years in real estate, has experience in new home development and sales. Williams was licensed in 1994 and comes to Frank Howard Allen from from CPS in Santa Rosa with experience in the mortgage and real estate industries.
Rodney Strong Vineyards recently has selected Dawn DuBois as district manager for New York, a new position for the company. Coming from the Fiji Water Co., DuBois previously worked with Empire Merchants (formerly Peerless Importers) in several roles, including: business development, key account manager, and director of hotels and national accounts. Daniel Massucco also has been named area manager for southern California. Massucco comes to the winery from Foster's Wine Estates, where he worked as a regional manager.
Brazilian jiu-jitsu academy Gracie Barra Rohnert Park has opened in Rohnert Park. Part of the Gracie Barra Co., a global organization formed by more than 100 Brazilian schools, the branch was established by Aparecido Faria Bill.
Redwood Credit Union has received silver-level Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification from the US Green Building Council's Green Building Rating System for their recently remodeled administrative office and branch building at 3033 Cleveland Ave. in Santa Rosa.
Teri Lu Andersen has joined Home Instead Senior Care as their recruiting and retention coordinator. Andersen will be responsible for hiring and training caregivers to assist the elderly so they may remain at home independently.
