Business section changes

Starting today, The Press Democrat no longer will publish a Business section on Saturdays to save newsprint costs, our second-largest expense after payroll.

Business news will be integrated into other sections of the paper. Today on Page B1, you will find a story about the Maker Faire, an event created by Sebastopol-based O'Reilly Media to celebrate do-it-yourself hobbyists. State and national business news can be found on Page A4.

DataBank, our summary of the Sonoma County real estate market, moves to the Sunday Business section, paired with the list of recent home sales. Also, agriculture and viticulture briefs move from today to the Sunday Business section. A weekly roundup of stocks and mutual funds also can be found in the Sunday Business section.

If you have comments on the changes or would like to request adding a stock or mutual fund to the Sunday tables, please e-mail stocks@pressdemocrat.com or call 521-5328.
