Sonoma firefighters extinguished a fire at the landmark El Dorado Hotel on the Sonoma Plaza early today.


They were called to the structure just before 9 a.m. The fire reportedly was in the roof and fire officials called for a second alarm to bring in backup firefighters.

The fire was out by about 9:30 a.m.

The hotel is on the northwest corner of the historic plaza on First Street West.
