At least half a dozen vehicles sustained flat tires from unknown debris strewn across the northbound lanes of Highway 101 in Santa Rosa during the Thursday morning commute, the CHP said.

Six-to-eight cars had to pull over near the junction with Highway 12 because of flattened tires shortly before 8 a.m., authorities said.

Several of the disabled vehicles had to be towed from the scene, CHP Sgt.

Gene O’Neal said.

“I think by the time our officers got there I don’t think they ever found what debris it was. But it did cause quite a number of flat tires,” he said.
