Theater owner Reading International Inc. has completed its purchase of Rohnert Park’s Stadium 16 movie multiplex, part of a $69 million deal for 15 film centers in California and Hawaii.

Reading purchased the Rohnert Park cinema from Los Angeles-based Pacific Theatres, which will keep its 14 other movie complexes in the Los Angeles area.

Reading, which is based in the Los Angeles suburb of Commerce, owns or manages 44 multiplex cinemas in the United States, Australia and New Zealand.

The deal closed Friday.

Pacific opened the Rohnert Park multiplex in 1998. It also owned Pacific Theatres Petaluma 8 before shutting that location in 2001. The family-owned company is now focusing on retail and office projects, according to industry observers.

The Rohnert Park multiplex has 48 employees.
