The girl, 17, was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with major injuries after the 11:30 a.m. accident, said CHP Officer Juan Leon.

Leon said the driver turned hard to miss stopped traffic, causing the car to overturn and end up off the freeway.

The girl, who had to be cut out of her car, was northbound on Highway 101 near the Rohnert Park Expressway when the crash occurred.

A car left the roadway of Hwy 101 northbound north of Rohnert Park Expressway ending up rolling into a ditch on Wednesday around noon. The northbound traffic was backed up over the Cotati grade.
