The second suspect in the slaying of 17-year-old Pedro "Pepe" Fernando Gonzalez Ruiz of Geyserville is being charged with being an accessory after the fact.
The suspect, a 17-year-old Santa Rosa resident and the victim's cousin, was arrested Saturday. His name is not being released because he is a juvenile.
Investigators believe Gonzalez Ruiz was shot and killed on Westside Road near Forestville on either June 15 or June 16.
Jose Mendez Gonzalez, 19, of Healdsburg has pleaded not guilty to murder. He also is a cousin of Gonzalez Ruiz.
Mendez Gonzalez is being held without bail. A preliminary hearing is set for July 23.
Investigators believe Mendez Gonzalez thought the victim had mistreated him. The two worked together at Molsberry's Market in Larkfield and drove together in Mendez Gonzalez's car to the scene of the shooting, according to investigators.
Investigators would not comment on what role they believe the 17-year-old cousin played in the crime, but said he knew a murder had occurred when he agreed to help Mendez Gonzalez in some fashion.
