A repeat sex offender was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison Tuesday after pleading guilty to felony indecent exposure in a three-strikes case.
Richard Allen Clapham, 43, of Petaluma admitted attacking a co-worker while she attempted to clean a restroom at Pier 1 Imports in Petaluma.
Clapham was nude and blocking the exit when the woman attempted to leave after cleaning the restroom. Clapham forced her backward into the bathroom before she was able to break free and scream for help.
Clapham later admitted to taking a "male performance enhancing stimulant" while at work, according to a statement issued by the District Attorney's Office.
In 1994, Clapham was convicted in Marin County of sexually assaulting his ex-girlfriend's 15-year-old sister. He was sentenced to four years in prison.
In 1995, Clapham was convicted of assault with intent to commit rape in an attack on two 10-year-old girls at Salmon Creek Beach.
In 1998, he was convicted of felony indecent exposure and sentenced to six years in state prison.
Clapham's most recent offense occurred one month after his parole term stemming from the 1998 offense ended.
